It's a requirement for chauffeurs across the US to perform a background check using Checkr.
The safety of chauffeurs and guests is paramount to Blacklane, our partners and corporate client base. For this reason, chauffeurs who do not pass a Checkr background check will not be able to perform rides with Blacklane.
If you're already an active chauffeur with Blacklane, you may remember our previous background check provider, AmericanChecked. Please note that Blacklane and AmericanChecked are no longer working together and Checkr is now our only background check vendor.
All chauffeurs must pass a background check with Checkr. The background check consists of four elements:
Nationwide criminal database
Criminal track record
Motor vehicle report (MVR)
Drug screening
Please note that drug screening is now an industry standard requirement which means chauffeurs must complete an in-person test. Checkr will inform you about the location of your nearest test center.
Once you've received your invitation to begin the background check, you must complete this within 10 days. You will receive an invitation email from Checkr, please click the link in the email to start.
Depending on your city, you may have to pay a fee of $95 per chauffeur for the background check. This is deducted from your company's next monthly invoice.
