How long does it take for a document to be reviewed?

When you upload a document for a chauffeur, vehicle, or your company, Blacklane checks it to confirm that it meets the requirements for your city.

How long will the review take?

We aim to review submitted documents within 2–3 days.

The review timeline starts when the document has been uploaded and, if it's a chauffeur document, acknowledged by the authorised representative of your company. Some documents may take longer if additional information or verification is needed, like insurance certificates.

Please make sure that:

  • The document has been uploaded in full.

  • The document is clear and all information is visible.

  • The expiry date has been entered where required.

  • Any document uploaded by a chauffeur has been reviewed and acknowledged by the company admin.

How to check your document review

You can check the status of each document in the partner portal or chauffeur app:

  1. Sign in to the partner portal.

  2. Find the relevant chauffeur or vehicle, or go to the Company tab.

  3. Go to the Documents section.

  4. Check the status shown next to each document.

If you have admin permissions and a chauffeur has uploaded a document in the app, you can review it in the Partner Portal and select Acknowledge when the document is correct. When this is done, you can continue to monitor its status in the documents list.

What do the document statuses mean?

  • Pending upload: The document has not been submitted.

  • In review: The document has been submitted and is being checked by Blacklane.

  • Waiting for broker: The document needs to be confirmed by your insurance broker before the review can be completed.

  • Approved: The document has been accepted.

  • Rejected: The document does not meet the requirements. Upload a replacement that follows the document guidelines.

  • Expired: The document is no longer valid. Upload a current version.

  • Expiring soon: The document will need to be replaced before its expiry date.

What should I do if the status has not changed after three days?

First, check that the document was uploaded and if it’s a chauffeur document, that it has been acknowledged by an admin if necessary . If the document remains In review for longer than three days, contact Blacklane and include:

  • Your company name or account number.

  • The chauffeur name or vehicle plate number.

  • The document name.

  • The date the document was uploaded.

We will contact you if we need a clearer document, an updated expiry date, or additional information.
