Why should I familiarize myself with Zoom before the webinar?

Zoom is a widely used platform for virtual meetings and webinars. Being familiar with Zoom's interface and functionalities will ensure you have a smooth and productive experience during the webinar. We recommend exploring Zoom’s Help Center for tutorials and tips.

How do I join the webinar using Zoom?

Joining a Zoom webinar is straightforward. We strongly recommend joining using a laptop, but if this is not possible, mobile instructions are provided below.

Joining via laptop (recommended)

  1. Install Zoom (recommended): If you don't have Zoom installed on your laptop, download it from Zoom’s official website and follow the installation instructions. While you can join via your browser, the Zoom app offers a better experience.

  2. Register for the webinar: Ensure you have registered for the webinar. You should have already received a confirmation email with the webinar link and details. If you have not, please rebook or contact us via chat.

  3. Prepare for the webinar: On the day of the webinar, make sure you have a stable internet connection, and find a quiet space to participate.

  4. Join the webinar:

    • Open the confirmation email and click on the webinar link, or join directly from the Google Calendar invite.



    • If you have the Zoom app, it will open automatically. If not, you can choose to join via your browser by clicking "Join from your browser."

    • Enter the meeting ID and password if prompted. You can find this in the webinar confirmation email.

    • Click "Join" and wait for the host to admit you to the webinar.

Joining via mobile device

  1. Install Zoom app (recommended): Download the Zoom app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Register for the webinar: Ensure you have registered for the webinar. You should have already received a confirmation email with the webinar link and details. If you have not, please rebook or contact us via chat.

  3. Prepare for the webinar: Ensure you have a stable internet connection and find a quiet space to participate.

  4. Join the webinar:

    • Open the confirmation email on your mobile device and click on the webinar link.

    • If you have the Zoom app, it will open automatically. If not, you can join via your mobile browser.

    • Enter the meeting ID and password if prompted. You can find this in the webinar confirmation email.

    • Click "Join" and wait for the host to admit you to the webinar.

What are the meeting etiquette guidelines?

To ensure a professional and respectful experience for all participants, please adhere to the following etiquette rules:

  • Be punctual: Join the meeting on time. Access will not be granted after the scheduled start time.

  • Be professional: You should wear the same attire you would when performing a ride.

    • Men: Dark suit (black, dark gray, or navy blue) with a matching tie and white shirt. Women and Diverse Participants: Professional attire is required, but a tie is optional.

  • Be tech-savvy:

    • Join the meeting with your camera on and microphone off.

    • Make sure you are in a calm, quiet environment.

    • Use the 'raise hand' button if you have a question, and unmute your microphone only when the host calls on you.

    • Ensure you have a good internet connection for the duration of the meeting.

  • Be prepared: Review the provided training material before the webinar as it will include a quiz and Q&A session.

  • Be safe: Do not join the meeting while driving.

How do I change my name in Zoom?

  • Join a Zoom meeting.

  • On the Zoom in-meeting controls, click Participants.

  • Hover your mouse over your name, then click the ellipsis.

  • Click Rename. A pop-up box will appear.

  • In the pop-up box, enter your display name.

  • Click Change.

How do I use Slido during the webinar?

Slido will be used during the webinar for interactive polls and Q&A sessions. Here’s how to access Slido:

  • If you have Zoom downloaded: Slido can be accessed directly through the Zoom app during the webinar.

  • If you are joining via browser: A link to Slido will be provided during the webinar. Click on the link to participate in the polls and Q&A sessions.

Additional tips for a great webinar experience

  • Test your equipment: Before the webinar, test your microphone and camera to ensure they are working properly.

  • Close unnecessary applications: To improve your internet connection and computer performance, close any unnecessary applications or tabs.

  • Stay engaged: Take notes, participate in discussions, and ask questions to make the most of the webinar.
