How to conduct sightseeing rides

Updated this week

This FAQ page is applicable to all cities where Blacklane Sightseeing rides are performed.

How do I transfer the google maps route to my phone?

Open the above guide to the city you work in and find the Google Maps links section.

Click on the are closest to the pick-up location of your guest and the circular route will start from there. Google Maps will open on your phone and a “Start Navigation” button should appear to follow the route with the above monuments and stops.

If the "Start Navigation" button in your Google Maps app does not show, please follow these steps:

  • Click on the three dots at the top right in Google Maps with your route displayed

  • Click on Edit Stops

  • Click on Add Stop

  • Select "Your Location"

  • Move "Your Location" to the top

  • And press "Done"

  • The Start button should now appear and you can navigate.

How do I follow the route on Google Maps?

As soon as the above route starts it will take you to the first monument. Once you have reached a location, Google Maps will ask you to acknowledge each stop and continue the route. Please familiarize yourself with this Google Maps functionality in advance. Navigating a route with multiple stops feels different to driving from Point A to Point B.

What if there is unexpected traffic and the navigation doesn’t work?

Google Maps doesn’t know that you are on a sightseeing ride and therefore might navigate you according to the current traffic situation, i.e. the route with the shortest ETA.

To avoid a disappointing guest experience, we count on your local city knowledge to execute the sightseeing route. Please make sure you know the sightseeing route by heart and are able to cover the monuments and three stops, i.e. the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre.

What if I can’t find the guest at the stop? How can the guest get in touch?

Please make sure the guest has downloaded the Blacklane app. Via the app, you can chat to your guest and if needed, call them. If you have any issues, please reach out to the Partner Care team.

What if the guest wants to extend the trip?

If the guests want to stop anywhere along the route, please let them know that they are welcome to for as long as they want, but it will not be possible to complete the sightseeing tour unless the ride is extended.

If you are available to extend the booking, please remember to tell the guest that if the ride time exceeds four hours, additional charges will be added to their bill, and they may not have time to see all of the planned landmarks.

What happens if a guest arrives late for their scheduled sightseeing tour?

Unless the guest confirms they no longer need the ride, chauffeurs should wait at the pick-up location for the four hours booked by the guest. If the guest confirms with Blacklane they don't need the ride anymore, the booking is paid in full.

What is the cancellation policy for Sightseeing rides?

The standard cancellation policy applies for all Sightseeing rides.

What should I do if there is a delay and the tour takes longer than the allotted four hours?

If you realize you won’t be able to complete the sightseeing ride, including drop-off at the first pick-up location, please confirm with the guest if they want to extend the ride, and for how long, then call Blacklane. Please do this as soon as possible to avoid rushing the guest.

How can I accept Sightseeing rides?

The Blacklane Operations Control team will call you to check your availability and then manually dispatch the ride to you.
